The Sennheiser e 604 is a compact dynamic cardioid instrument microphone optimised for drums, percussion, brass, and woodwind. Weighing just 60g and measuring only 33 x 59mm, it clips directly to the rim of a drum or mounts on a stand via its integrated tripod mount — no additional hardware required. Despite its small footprint it handles sound pressure levels up to 160 dB without distortion, making it equally at home on a snare in a live arena or a tom in a recording studio.
The glass-fibre reinforced housing is impact-resistant and insensitive to structure-borne sound — critical for a microphone that regularly takes hits from drumsticks and sits in close proximity to percussion.
